_ [book]《書評》太宰って、こんなに面白かったのか〜お伽草子・新釈諸国噺
太宰治は、今まで敬遠してきた作家です。読んだことがある作品と言えば、小学生だったか中学生の時に夏休みの課題で読んだ「走れメロス」くらい。太宰を敬遠したのには特に明確な理由があったわけではなく、なんか自分には合わなそうな人だ、と感じたから。それでもこの作品を読む気になったのは、どこかで「太宰の『お伽草子』は非常に面白い」と聞いたからです
そして今回「お伽草子」と「新釈諸国噺」を読んでみたのですが、読みながらかなり笑ってしまいました。特に「お伽草子」。「瘤取り」「浦島さん」「カチカチ山」「舌切雀」という、誰もが知っている話が下敷きになっていて、ストーリーもほぼ同じながら、太宰の創作部分や合間合間に入る解説というかツッコミ (表現が適切でないな) が非常に鋭く面白い。
特に「浦島さん」。浦島太郎を竜宮城に運んだ亀がどんな亀だったかの考察の面白さもさることながら、特にぐっときたというかはっとさせられたのが、乙姫から渡された玉手箱を開けて老いてしまった浦島太郎について、三百歳になった太郎は本当に不幸だったのか、乙姫が太郎に玉手箱を渡した本当の意味は何だったのか、と問いかけた場面。自分がこれまで考えたことのないような解釈と、その説得力にうなってしまった
「お伽草子」を読んで、他の太宰の作品を読んでみてもいいかもしれない (でも明るく楽しいものだけにしたい)、とちょっと思いました
