_ [うさぎ]うさぎってどうですか
今日、食事中にパートの人から「うさぎ飼ってますよね、うさぎってどうですか」と聞かれた
なんでもその人の子供(幼稚園児と思われる)が、どこかでロップイヤーを見て「動いてるうさぎがほしい」と言いだしたらしい。幼稚園にもうさぎがいるらしく、世話係の当番があるので「それじゃ不満なのかなー」と言っていた
どう言ったもんかと思ったんだけど、デメリットの方を多く伝えました。「かわいいですよ〜、ぜひ飼ってください」と言うこともできるんだけど、デメリットを知った上で飼った方が、飼う方(特に親)にとってもうさぎにとっても、のちのちいいと思ったので
例えば
- 不衛生にしていると病気になりやすい(これはどの動物も一緒か)
- うさぎを診察できる獣医が本当に少ない
- 常に胃腸が動いていないといけないこともあって、放っておくことができない
- やはりペットとしてはマイナーなので、何を買うにしても割高である
- 外を散歩させる必要はないが、毎日ケージから出して運動させる必要はある
- 犬猫ほどではないが、生き物なのでやはり臭いはある
などなど言った上で「飼いやすいとは言えないし手はかかるけどかわいいですよ」と言っておきました
質問してきた人は、子供にあきらめさせるための説得材料が欲しかったのか、飼うにあたって情報が欲しかったのか、どっちだったのだろう
